With the conviction of transforming dream into reality, THE SCHOLAR was conceived as the name of the proposed English Medium High School and its foundation was laid beside NH-31 on the outskirts of Islampur in the year 2001. From that auspicious day, THE SCHOLAR began its journey with only 25 students & 04 teachers. Initially, like a child tottering to fall, THE SCHOLAR tottered but very soon stabilized its movements. As it was a dream put into reality with the urge in tune with the true inner nature, it gave glimpses to conquer time. With the zeal of shaping THE SCHOLAR into a dream institution, no stone was left unturned to procure the coveted NOC from Govt. of West Bengal in the year 2004 & recognition from CISCE, New Delhi in the year 2005 with the code no. WB-271. The much awaited dream of permanent affiliation was received on 22nd September 2017.

Successive Principals commencing from Lt. Dr. Aparesh Sett to the present Principal Mr. Rupendra Mukhia have given the prestigious institution a firm footing and have tried their best to make THE SCHOLAR a choice for the parents wandering to admit their daughter/son in a school where all round development of students is taken care of. Since affiliation, THE SCHOLAR has come of age bagging acclaim and renown in the field of education.

In the passage of time THE SCHOLAR has move forward to achieve an enviable strength of 1500 scholarites brimming with life and adding lustre to the institution with remarkable achievements. THE SCHOLAR bestows the credit of success to the inspiring leadership of the visionary principals, dedicated and committed teachers & staff who act in unison as the lighthouse for the students. Though there is a list of achievements, yet much remain to be achieved. With the blessings of the almighty and the endless love and co-operation of the enlightened parents and guardians, THE SCHOLAR is all set to achieve further goals to lift education to the level of divinity.
